OK, when it comes to food I'm a simple guy, I like good quality produce, cooked to perfection with ingredients to enhance the experience that don't overpower the meal's main "star." I liked this book at first - its attractive and quirky with some interesting fare - but now I've tried a selection of recipes I've found they are mostly heavy on salt & sugar and carbs. Good tips on cooking steak - but otherwise recipes mostly too stodgy, calorific and over-flavoured. Back of the cupboard book.

I'm a big fan of the restaurant and this book is a fantastic representation of the food they make but in the comfort of your own home. It's transformed the way I cook steak as well as numerous other dishes that I've not tried when I've eaten there.

This book isn't just for people who've eaten at the Hawksmoor restaurants but for anyone who enjoys simple but high quality food that's prepared and cooked to perfection. Their ketchup recipe alone is worthwhile making and in my opinion challenges Heinz as your ketchup of choice.

The cocktails are great as is their advice on wines for different cuts.

Definitely buy this book.

Bought this as a gift for meat-loving man and it was very successful. The recipes are delicious and the photos almost pornographically enticing... so much that he has organised a mass trip to London to experience the real thing, as well as a "Hawksmoor at Home" dinner party. Having cocktail recipes included is a great idea and really gets you in the mood for some classy cooking.
