This is clearly quite a specialised subject but the author makes it very approachable. It is an in-depth coverage of both the history of marine timekeeping and the beautiful chronometers themselves. It is nicely designed, with good quality paper, photographs, drawings and hard-back covers.
Many good quality horological books are now very expensive, as they require so much research, such high quality printing yet have such small markets to sell to. This book is therefore an absolute bargain, and I'm very glad I bought it.
