Having bought the book on the European theatre by these authors I was so impressed that I thought I would give this volume a try. This volume is just as good as the first, with excellent photography, an impressive range of uniforms and equipment, combined with some wonderful text. My only hope is that the authors now build on this success with further volumes on the RAF, the Royal Navy and maybe even the uniforms of other combatants.

Whilst covering the majority of military webbing used by British forces in the years mentioned it does not include some of the more specialised items that were produced in small numbers. It is however a useful tool for those who study this subject, and with a number of people joining military re-enactment groups it provides them with the information that they require to get things right with regards to what to wear, and how it was worn etc.
