This is a handy little tour book of Luxor and Cairo. It is small enough to fit in a small bag/handbag and covers most tour attractions/restaurants/etc. It also gives you a little bit of history about Egypt.
This book is great to carry around with you on-the-go while you are in Egypt and for basic information. However, if you are looking for an in-depth book about Egypt, this is not the book for you.

To get the best out of travel to Egypt, the visitor needs enough background information to its history, people and artefacts to stimulate and excite. Too much information becomes boring; too little and the visitor can miss locations which bring the past brilliantly to life.
The Globetrotter series is always a good read, but the Best of Cairo and Luxor is well written, interesting and an ideal book to read before going to Egypt, and to have at hand before and after visiting any of the historic sites. It is sufficiently compact and is an ideal introduction to the splendours of one of the cradles of world civilisation. A 'must have' for any first time traveller to Egypt
