5.0 out of 5 stars 2008 - Gone but not forgotten
Okay, so I know what the other reviewer meant but this isn't a Doctor Who Appreciation Society Calendar, it's mass-produced to appeal mainly to kids who watch the current series and as such this is going to be like this whatever.
From the intensely pointing sonic screwdriver of the Tenth Doctor on the front cover, to December's...well I'll leave that as a surprise...

3.0 out of 5 stars Perfunctory
The main problem with this calender is that it just lacks the originality and passion of the kind of nostalgia works which were published before the series came back. It doesn't look like its been put together by someone whose even seen the series and has a clue of the kinds of iconic images we'd want to have on our wall all year, and the main drawback to be honest is...

From the intensely pointing sonic screwdriver of the Tenth Doctor on the front cover, to December's...well I'll leave that as a surprise! this is a glossy and sumptuous treat. It's not all about The Daleks though, as the calendar features an episode by episode gallery of monsters and aliens from the third series of the programme.
There is also plenty of space to write your notes and reminders for each day, and the calendar is sturdy too so it won't fall off the hook halfway through February!

The main problem with this calender is that it just lacks the originality and passion of the kind of nostalgia works which were published before the series came back. It doesn't look like its been put together by someone whose even seen the series and has a clue of the kinds of iconic images we'd want to have on our wall all year, and the main drawback to be honest is that by concentrating on a month an episode from the third series, we've already watched the fourth and we're still looking at material from a year ago.

Something more general, bringing together material from all of the previous series might have worked better, something in other words less generic, less insert random picture here, random picture here and perhaps which includes quotes from the script for programme makers might have made it tolerable. It's put me off getting the next one to be honest.
