With lots of titles on the market claiming to provide the medical student preparing for exams with questions that they can use to test their knowledge, why should you purchase this title?
Having received this title to review from the publishers, I can tell you that it is certainly well written, with questions covering most of the major aspects of Paediatrics that you would be expected to know by the end of the degree. The variety of the questions stretches across 10 key areas (split into chapters) allowing the reader to test a specific aspect of their knowledge. All of the questions have a detailed explanation as to what is the reasoning behind the answer that has been chosen.
The questions presented are very similar to the type of EMQ that you could expect on Paediatrics and the range of questions in this book should cater for most if not all medical schools curricula where emphasis may be place on one area more than others.
On the whole if you are looking for a book that gives you exam style questions on Paediatrics and is not too expensive then look no further. If however you are looking for a title/resource that would give you what this title does but covering more areas then consider one of the online resources such as Pass Medicine, Pass Test or Exam Consult. If you use Elsevier as main texts then Exam Consult may be particularly pertinent as it links in with the texts covering areas on each of the questions.
