101 best ever curries,
By
This review is from: Good Food: Best-ever Curries: Triple-tested Recipes (Paperback)
Recently I purchased a number of the Good Food series of cook books, including the 101 Best Ever Curries, and I certainly have not been disappointed. The books are well written, easy to use and contain recipes for everyday use. I have tried a number of Curries from the Best Curry book and the results have been fantastic. This is a book for the complete beginner, follow the recipe, easy peasy. Tasty meals don't come easier than this! The book contains some great vegetarian recipes as well.I would recommend all of the books in this series, the price of each book also represents excellent value.

Well written, simple to follow, easy to source ingredients, tried and tested recipes, another excellent addition to the series. The best thing for me is the recipes are cheap and easy to make, the kids love them, and the kids love helping to choose the meals and learning to cook them. There is a curry for every palate in this book. Highly recommended!

Great Recipes,
A Kid's Review

Good selection of curries, very tasty, easy to execute, and do not require too many exotic ingredients. Most ingredients are widely available. This is not cutting edge Asian food but a good selection for those who enjoy a nice curry.

Regret buying this book. Is very basic and asks you to use madras and korma curry pastes etc, you'd be better off following the recipes on the back of the jars. Not what I was looking for at all.

I'm a big fan of the 'Good Food' series, but for me, this book is one of the particular highlights. The thing I like best about it is that generally all instructions are kept to one page and set out in easy to follow steps and the photo to another so you can see how your meal will turn out. I can honestly say that I've never yet had a meal turn out wrong by following publications from this series. I also like the fact that there's low fat meals, vegetarian meals etc all compiled into the one book- there's sure to be something for everyone's palate- even the fussiest of eaters. These books are ideal for the beginner cook who wants to experiment with a new cuisine, or for the more experienced in the kitchen who is looking for a meal to develop as a basic recipe and then put their own twists on it. The recipes are fairly cheap and cheerful, but most of all delicious and nothing is too difficult to find- everything is easily accessible from your local supermarket. For dieters the calorie count is also broken down in every single recipe, which is very handy- so you know just what you're eating- always a bonus. My favourite recipes from this book: Lamb, chickpea and spinach curry with masala mash (p142) and the creamy egg curry (p42)- sounds a bit weird but it's yummy!

Best range of cook books I have ever seen,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Good Food: Best-ever Curries: Triple-tested Recipes (Paperback)
We now have 11 of these books at home. We have used every book so far and I highly recommend as many of you browsing to buy them. The reasons why are as follows:1. The end result of the cooking looks like the picture! 2. Nothing fancy or complicated in the methods 3. Everyday items so no need to look for the organically produced Mongolian Beaver-Milk cheese! 4. The quantity of servings can be easily reduced without affecting the end result. 5. The books are ****** cheap!!! The results? I think so far out of the dozens of recipes we have tried out, there is only one that we may not try again. 101 One-pot Dishes: Tried-and-tested Recipes (Good Food 101)101 Meals for Two: Tried-and-tested Recipes (Good Food 101)"Good Food" 101best Ever Chicken Recipes 101 Pasta and Noodle Dishes: Tried-and-tested Recipes ("Good Food")

Another excellent Good Food book,

Have about ten of these excellent little books and, to be honest, no other cookbooks get a look in. Haven't repeated a meal for about three months and 95% of them were excellent. Used this to cook a birthday dinner for my son: Saffron scented chicken, chilli road potatoes, tomato, cucumber and coriander salad and a cucumber and mango raita followed by aromatic poached fruit. Everyone loved it. Everything cooked to time. Everything tasted great. I recommend these books to anyone who wants simple, tasty and not too time consuming recipes that taste good.

We have several books in this range. Like all of the others, 101 best curries has easy to follow recipes each with a picture. The books are great for ideas for entertaining or just for a family meal. The ingredients used are those which can be bought from any supermarket.
