I must agree with the other reviewer about this book.. Although there were a few useful facts and pictures in the main it was a rather "stating the obvious" general buyers guide that could have applied to any make or model of classic bike.. Disappointing, even at Amazon's price. I would have been rather annoyed if I'd paid full price for it...

2.0 out of 5 stars Very basic, 27 Jun 2008

This a small book with not many words and small pictures, which sounds picky but if you are looking at a bike you need detail and this book is devoid of detail. Basic second hand buying advice doesn't necessarily translate to Classic Bikes, and once you have gone around the bike checking for cracks, leaks and wear there is little in the way of advice on the implications of any problems found, so the book is of very little help to a serious buyer. Should be renamed a lazy tyre kickers guide to buying like an idiot; then it would get 5 stars!

Most certainly not essential! Very disapointing, mostly states the obvious. I feel I wasted my money on this one. There are some very much better BSA guides available.I recommend you do as I have now done, spend a little more and get something a lot more informative.
