Valuable for warm and lively writing, with Scripture at the head of each page, and enriched by quotation on each page from other writers, and wide personal experience.
Of course not every point made would meet with every reader's agreement, e.g. it is attractive to think that certain appearances of angels in the O.T. were in fact appearances of God the Son 9p.47), but signs that God was speaking through an angel do not demonstrate that it was distinctively the Son who was doing so. One value, however, is that such thoughts prompt the reader to search for himself--back into the Bible, which is always rewarding if read with faith and perseverance.
