Not as good as the old ones,
By
This review is from: Miller's Collectables Handbook 2010-2011 (Paperback)
I was a little disappointed with this issue of Miller's Collectables 2010-2011 compared to previous issues by Miller's. I found that rather alot of the items shown in the book were indeed American and rarely seen here in the UK. There are plenty of books published in America, which already cover these items and I think that Miller's should try and stick to British and European items.

why the move to overlap years?,
By Studen "Deni" (Derby UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Miller's Collectables Handbook 2010-2011 (Paperback)
I have been purchasing the Millers Collectable Handbooks for Years (seems forever), the issue to overlap the years is very unusual - why have 2 years in one book, when the items within are constantly moving in value. Also when will we be able to pre order the next volume - 2011 - 2012? The content has changed dramatically over the years, but I shall "Have To" still continue to purchase the ENGLISH copy, not the American copy that I made an error with last year!

Only a pit stop tour,
By
This review is from: Miller's Collectables Handbook 2010-2011 (Paperback)
As someone who is new to collecting the book provided a useful pit stop tour and gave me a rough idea of pricing. However, I felt that the book lacked any depth and most of the areas, apart from ceramics, glass and fashion, were brief and provided little insight. If you are looking for something comprehensive this might not be the best book, as it is more of an overview.

Millers Collectables 2010-2011,

This review is from: Miller's Collectables Handbook 2010-2011 (Paperback)
Perhaps it is the fact that a number of my particular areas of interest did not feature heavily this year, but it does not have the same un put downable qualities, for me at least.I also felt that some of the content was more oriented to the other side of the Atlantic than to UK consumers. I make these observations, not having perused the book from cover to cover, which I usually do. It just seems to have lost a bit of its relevance [to me] despite being very much a similar product, and very colourful, to other years. As ever however, if sitting around with a few minutes to spare, there are always snippets of interest to be found. I like the suggestions of pricing valuation....... makes my small collection of 'things' seem far more intrinsically valuable than they are !

I bought this book for my son who is starting out in the antiques and collectables market. It is a good informative annual that is reliable, just right if you want to know what is currently being collected and the approximate price you would expect to pay. Back copies are interesting to view too.

Great Book if you are interested in old or modern collectables I would recommend this particular guide to any one thinking of beginning a future hobby in collecting.

Not one to carry in your pocket but full of info on everything from silver to spectacles and banknotes to James Bond. Nicely laid out and cram full of pictures

This guide is so informative and better than I expected. Millers' guides are jam packed with up do date information, making them well worth twice the price. But amazon offer great VFM. Great coffee table read.

For this great price we have already had our use out of this lovely book. Even my teen son has had a good browse. Considering the breadth of collectibles covered I think a good job has been done, and I believe I will surely get good wear as a reference in the future.
