If you are looking for a concise, informative and practical way to learn about all aspects of arthritis and arthritis treatment and management then this is the book for you. I read this first, and was so impressed I bought his other 2 books! I have SEVERE arthritis in both knees and after 3 ops, I'd do anything to keep mobile without having replacement surgery. Arthritis really is horrid.

Well, Dr. Jenner has developed a sequential look at all aspects of arthritis from symptoms to diagnosis and treatment options. His extensive experience working in the pain management field is highlighted in the way in which information is presented.

It is very sympathetic to those suffering with this debilitating condition but also shows how often the suffering is unnecessary with current treatment options. However, unlike many other books on the subject, Dr. Jenner presents a range of options to practically and effectively deal with the damage of arthritis to allow a more pain free way of live.

With the emphasis on being proactive and developing a treatment plan that works for your arthritis and pain this very readable book on a complex subject is sure to provide answers for the questions you may have. If you only get one book on arthritis this really should be it.

The best thing about Dr. Jenner's books is that they always deal with every possible aspect of the disease he's writing about. As a care home manager I have several of Dr. Jenner's books and encourage my staff, residents and their families to read them because they are practical and easy-to-read. There's so much you can do to help your arthritic condition that your doctor doesn't have time to tell you. Read this book and learn practical ways to improve your arthritis symptoms and mobility from an expert.

I really have found this book a great help. I have osteoarthritis in both hips and really rely on pain killers every day. Before reading this book I was beginning to feel a bit miserable. This book is so simple and logical and has helped me no end. I now try to balance my days with sensible exercise (know it is important) with rest periods. And the big thing is to not try to do it all in a day! makes sense doesn't it but I needed telling. Very useful. Yes would recommend.

I suffer from back pain and arthritis. I bought Dr. Jenner's book because it provided the most simplistic and yet thorough way to get from where I am to a place I can feel more comfortable in. Pain is horrible and something I deal with daily. This book provided me with help. I like how much information was included. It also provided practical steps to getting to a point where pain doesn't rule your life. I use this as a guide. When my pain flares up, I find this book comes to the rescue. It is an excellent resource and read for anyone.

I purchased this book along with Dr. Jenner's book Neck and Back Pain: A Practical Guide to Getting on With Your Life. I would highly recommend them both for anyone that is suffering from back and neck injuries and/or arthritis or anyone that is a caregiver, spouse, friend or family member of someone dealing with these conditions. Helping to care for family members with arthritis has really opened my eyes to how potentially life altering this condition can be. Dr. Jenner's practical yet empathetic approach to discussing the medical issues of the disease along with the strategies for getting the most out of life is really inspiring and informative. Thanks very much for this outstanding resource!

Arthritis is one of the most common causes of pain, which most people feel they simply have to deal with. With my wrist and hand already showing signs of arthritis, I wanted to know as much as possible about it. Hearing that there is just nothing you can do about it doesn't seem like a viable option. This guide has become an invaluable resource for me. For those currently dealing with arthritis, I highly recommend Jenner's guide. For those looking for new treatment options to those wanting to prevent the problem from getting worse or even starting to begin with, it is a must read.

I haven't learnt much I didn't already get from browsing the Internet. There are so many different types of arthritis occurring in so many different stages of development that about 80% of it is bound to be irrelevant to the reader. Still in my experience this is better than trying to consult generally clueless GPs (possibly deliberately reticent because they dislike to admit they have no helpful answer to this common illness).
