5.0 out of 5 stars Helping others help themselves
An easy to read manual which clearly sets out the roles of mentor and mentee. It is useful for those new to mentoring but would also be a handy "refresher" course for those already in the role. 2.0 out of 5 stars repetitive
This book is very repetitive and only really relevant to mentoring within business. I wouldn't recommend this book to someone wanting a guide to general mentoring

4.0 out of 5 stars Mentoring mostly from the mentor's point of view, 8 Jan. 2012

This review is from: A Practical Guide To Mentoring 4e: How to help others achieve their goals (Paperback)
This guide about mentoring will be mostly relevant to mentors, rathor than mentees, although mentees might read it to raise their awareness of the mentoring process from the mentor's point of view.

The book reads very well, with short chapters, introductory bullet points detailing the menu of each chapter and summaries for each chapter with a recap of the main points.

There are also 'self-assessment' moments with series of questions to prompt reflexion in the reader.

The book concludes with 12 scenarios so that the reader-mentor can exercise themselves in given mentoring situations.
