If you're looking for a commentary to get you started in Ezekiel then this is probably as good a place to start as any. The Tyndale series is generally pitched between a readable but also reasonably academic in its approach so if you're looking to understand the text you should find enough here. It also deals with translational issues to a certain extent in that it will go into the Hebrew words used where it's necessary but you do not have an author's translation of the text which would be available in a more academic commentary. I used this a few years ago when I was doing an overview of Ezekiel and certainly found it reasonably detailed enough. If you're looking to buy one commentary on Ezekiel then this is a reasonably priced one and it certainly has enough detail for preparing Bible studies or talks.

The book has an overview of the opinions on authorship and history, then a description of the main themes. These are deep enough to be worthwhile without being too heavy.
The main commentary is very useful as it goes through almost verse by verse, with discussion on major topics through out.
Very good reference for sermons to check understanding of passages.

Seems satisfactory but not the sort of book one just sits down to read from cover to cover.
