I have to disagree with the previous reviewer. This is a wonderful book packed full of terrific photos of my favourite club. Every picture tells a story and there are so many that are new to this pair of eyes. I especially loved the Sixties section with so many great photos of the Holy Trinity, Law ,Best and Charlton. So why not 5 stars? Some players are wrongly identified and this is unforgivable Andy Mitten. What were you thinking? Nevertheless this book is a wonderful companion to Bobby Charlton`s `My Life In Football`and at a tenner well worth the money.

I bought the book expecting, as it claimed, a nostalgic look at a century of the club and was very disappointed. There are only six pre 1939 photographs included, and none of them were taken at a game. A photograph supposedly of Billy Bryant who played for Newton Heath in the late 1890's is actually his namesake who played for the club in the mid thirties. An elementary mistake - the photograph is so obviously much later than the 1890's. Mitten claims to have spent days pouring over around 10,000 images in the Daily Mirror archives before selecting the 200 or so for this book. Unfortunately he has produced yet another post war photo album history to join the countless others already published. A wasted opportunity and a waste of money.
