This is a must-have for all Liverpool fans, young and getting-on-a-bit. The older reader will revel in a prolonged stroll down memory lane - the banners, the seething Kop, the outrageous kits and even stranger hair-dos. They'll remember players like Peter Cormack and John McGloughlin who did their bit alongside your Keegans and Crazy Horses without really getting the credit they deserved. They'll recall a type of Corinthian spirit you rarely see today - Keith Weller running after Bill Shankly, hand outstretched to congratulate him on another Championship. And they'll comfort themselves with the thought that, no matter what happens on and off the pitch today, they were there to see a mighty team play irresistible stuff at one of the world's true bastions of football - Anfield, Liverpool 4 - in the days when football truly was football. For younger readers though, this book is - in the best possible sense - an education. In a world and at a time when everything from supermarkets to 'soccer' have taken on a cynical, homogenous hue, Liverpool F.C stands out as a beacon on the world stage. It is, and always has been, the most romantic football club in the world, and Peter Hooton's fascinating archive of hand-picked images takes the reader through a spiritual journey that illustrates, step by step, decade by decade, how the legend was born, how it grew and what it became. It's one of the greatest sporting stories ever told. Buy it for your Dad, buy it for your Uncle, buy it for Christmas or buy it for yourself... but this is an asset that no Liverpudlian can afford to be without.

No divers, no goal line technology, no prawn sandwiches - just good old football memorabilia at it's best. Great photo collection brought together with some intersting facts and figures. Recommended for all football fans.

Christmas was coming and my mother is one of these die hard liverpool fans so i bought her this book, i know nothing of football so i cannot comment on it. But she loved it and when i flicked through there seems to be plenty of infomation and the pictures are good quality despite some of them being very old! It really does cover 100 years of football and to any liverpool fan i would say buy this!

Good for what it is but lacks a variety of information about the FC. There is so much more that would be of interest.

I bought this item as a secret santa present, so I haven't read it and therefore can't really review the contents. However, it was delivered very quickly and efficiently, in plenty of time for the festive season.
