I bought this to change the gearbox in my MK 2 Punto and it went without a hitch. I would not have liked to tackle that without a manual given the number hidden bolts etc.

The upshot is that I replaced the gearbox for EURO 162 with a good second-hand one, including new gearbox oil, instead of paying the dealer EURO 2,000, so the manual more than paid for itself.

However it was not so much use when I wanted to replace the rear subframe torsion bushes. When the manual was printed, the torsion bushes were not available separately so it did not describe how to replace them. I could not expect it to describe something that was not possible when it was printed ! But the section on the rear subframe was pretty sketchy and there was not a single picture of the rear subframe in it. However, this was fairly self-explanatory and you could work it out yourself.

If you need to or just want to know more about your Punto with pictures, then get this manual. It covers the petrol engines, 1242cc 8v & 16v (and the HGT I think). Basic information such as weekly checks and what should get done in services, as well as the usual Haynes guides on doing many different things to you car (you know, like changing your brake disks). All specific to the Punto Mk2.
It's not perfect, but then for the money and size I don't see how it could be. Some things wont be covered, but most common things are, and even if you never put the info to use yourself, it's good to know that you can reference it should you get a problem and understand what a mechanic would need to do.

The price and the delivery on this item were excellent and worth five stars.

The book itself was rather disappointing, and having owned a number of Haynes manuals in the past, I have to say this is the first one that has disappointed me.

The photographs and instructions are very basic, and it's a relatively thin manual compared to others that I own. The coverage of topics is brief and sketchy.

At the Amazon price I'm not dissatisfied with the value, but if I had paid full retail price, then I would have been.

This is a must buy for any Fiat Punto owner who wants to save money on maintaining their car. Or for others who just enjoy working on their own car (or others).

This gives step by step guide in maintenance and repairs that you may need while owning this car. Also gives a picture so you know what to look for.

This is probably the best manual currently on the market.

The book was ok, but did not have any infomation in the chapter concerned about the fitting of the main water coolant pipe not even an illustration. I was left guessing as to how it fitted, but prevailed in the end. Looks like the omission was down to Haynes.

The manual has been invaluable at diagnosing the problem. Definately recommend them.

God has spoken. The Haynes manual is the bible where cars are concerned. Treat your car as you would yourself or something. Must have for the home mechanic who likes to tinker.

This was second hand but you wouldn't know. Great condition, less than the full price and just what I needed to help me change a few bits on my daughters car.

Good manual to get you going. As is typical with newer Hayenes manuals there isn't as much detail as in older ones but it's still ok for most DIY needs.
