This is a long overdue revision guide to help pupils following the Welsh Second Language GCSE course. The layout is fantastic and my pupils in Year 11 think that it is superb and were delighted that it was published a couple of months before their final exams. We have supplied our Year 10 and current Year 9 pupils, who have opted for Welsh, with a copy as it much more than simply a 'revision guide'. The 'essential grammar and vocab' section at the start through all the theme areas and example exam questions and coursework pointers to a comprehensive vocabulary at the end are indispensable. Llongyfarchiadau Jo Knell.

This is not it my daughter's fav subject but it was recommended by her teacher. It is an ideal guide - it helped her get an A grade in her oral exam when she was predicted to get a C. It ticks all my boxes - highly recommended!

Found this book very useful. I probably will never speak Welsh but I found this book useful for helping me to understand the Welsh in tourist leaflets etc and to be able to read simple articles about Welsh life and history. This book will enhance visits to North West Wales where my ancestors came from.

Clear layout, clear explanations, covers what you need to know. Useful information about the structure of the course. Good home support for those studying Welsh at school. The author was an excellent teacher in the classroom for my older child; I'm glad my younger child can still benefit from her expertise.

I am an elderly English woman learning Welsh because I became interested after spending many holidays in Wales. I was feeling rather dispirited but had by no means given up in my efforts. This is a wonderful aid, regardless of whether or not I shall ever sit the examination. The main thing is it breaks learning (or revising) down into bite-size portions and is very clear, beautifully printed and encouraging to the learner. I strongly recommend it.

I'd been learning Welsh for a few months using 'Learn a language for free' websites, which were great for learning vocabulary and stock phrases, but I was still struggling with putting sentences together, which is why I bought this book.
It is written specifically to help prepare for GCSE exams, and as such has several pages of exam information that are irrelevant to me as an individual learner and a lot of the subject matter covered is very teenager-centric, but on the upside this does mean that it covers a lot of conversational vocabulary, grammar notes such as how to change tense or phrase a question, paragraphs to read and translate, all laid out in a very user-freindly manner. I'm finding it really helpful in learning to speak and write in full sentences, and hopefully should be getting up to B2-level fluency by the time I'm finished with it. Great value!

It's a great book for useful vocabulary even if not studying for GCSE. It's concise and am not aware of another book, which summarises some useful topics.

In North Wales the Welsh used is very different both in language structure and many nouns. I wanted to revise the Welsh being taught in Mid/North Wales but although some courses and self learn books do give both versions, this one was limited to people in South Wales No use for us in North Wales.
