The relationship between the technical and traditional man powered warfare is clearly demonstrated in this excellent work which gives the student, historian and general reader those vital clues to understanding the Old Army pre Great War and the events of World War One and beyond. This work is a must have on the subject of modern warfare.

This review is from: Fire Power: The British Army - Weapons and Theories of War, 1904-1945: The British Army - Weapons and Theories of War, 1904-1945 (Pen & Sword Military Classics) (Paperback)
This book is a very good read and describes in great detail the firepower revolution which occurred in the early 20th Century

The book deals with large artillery pieces as well as small arms

In many places comparisons are made between developments made in the German and French armies which is particularly useful to those studying the first war

This book is important when trying to understand the combat doctrine employed by the British army during WW1
