5.0 out of 5 stars The one to have, 5 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Planning and Installing Photovoltaic Systems: A Guide for Installers, Architects and Engineers (Spiral-bound)
This book is the only book I could find that truly covers the subject of PV. It is the recommended study guide for many UK PV qualifications including NicIEC.
This book cover the subject matter in great detail (perhaps too much for the average installer) although a bible for the specifier / installer.

You won't currently find a better book on Photovoltaic technology.

We have just started installing PV solar systems and were looking for a all encompassing reference book to further understand this complex subject. This books meets all the points and would highly recomend to those looking to become solar panel installer.

4.0 out of 5 stars How to become an instant PV guru, 22 Jun 2011
This review is from: Planning and Installing Photovoltaic Systems: A Guide for Installers, Architects and Engineers (Spiral-bound)
This book gives better understanding of photovoltaics in general, PV modules and grid-connected PV systems than any other single book I've come across.
The off-grid part is somewhat simplistic and not altogether accurate, and that is why I've given the book four rather than five stars. But for anyone professionally involved with grid-connected PV this is book is a must.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big and Thorough, 2 Jun 2011
This review is from: Planning and Installing Photovoltaic Systems: A Guide for Installers, Architects and Engineers (Spiral-bound)
What a huge read, I now understand why it is not cheap. This is very in depth and thorough and would cover anything that you need to know about PV systems. Even if you wanted to design the panels themselves, it would give you the knowledge ............Well worth the money if you are serious about anything to do with PV.

5.0 out of 5 stars Go to reference book, 21 Sep 2013
This review is from: Planning and Installing Photovoltaic Systems: A Guide for Installers, Architects and Engineers (Spiral-bound)
5 stars for the content, has all you need to design most PV projects. The only slight issue is there are a few typos, obviously from the translation but not critical. It's very informative and a must for PV engineers. The spiral binding is woeful!
