If you don't want to slave over a hot stove and want inspiration for quick, easy to make but tasty dishes this is the book for you.

Having lent it to friends too - It would make a great present!

We've recently come back to this cook book after having it for a good few years. We have 1 night of the week where we need to make a really fast tea as we're both back late from work and after putting the children to bed we don't have a lot of time. We decided to try using this book every week on that night. When we first bought the book I didn't really believe it was up to much but we held onto it as there were a few recipes in there that became firm favourites. Since using it every week we have come to appreciate the whole book - every week we cook something different and so far, nothing has taken longer than 30 minutes. We had the noodle and mackerel salad last night and it's one of the best mid week dinners I've ever tasted. So simple but very flavoursome. Favourites include the sticky lemon chicken, the hake with salsa and now the mackerel noodle salad. I'm not saying all the recipes are fantastic, but they do the job of providing a tasty and quick evening meal. Job done, I would say!

I bought this book because it's Gordon Ramsay and it was on special on Amazon. I found the book badly laid out and the pages too busy looking. The recipes are good but I've hardly used it because I don't like the look (or feel!) of the book.

No usable recipes in this book unless you live in central London with access to all the obscure ingredients.
And do I really need a recipe for orange segments, or potato wedges? Ermmm, no.

Waste of money.

I enjoy watching Gordon Ramsay on TV, I know that he's not to everyone's taste but I like the style of his food and especially enjoyed the F Word series.
I've now cooked quite a few of the dishes from this book and it's really easy to follow - well set out instructions, with great clear colour photography.
This is classed as 'fast' though and there are a couple of the recipes that I've found that really can't be cooked in the time allowed. One example is the sticky lemon chicken. A whole chicken jointed - brown the pieces for 3 minutes each side, make and add the sauce and then cook for 10 minutes. There is no way that boned chicken pieces can be cooked through in 10 minutes. Luckily I realised this and planned the meal accordingly, but if you hadn't realised then it could be pretty dangerous. Red chicken meat is a no-no!
Other than that, I've really enjoyed trying the recipes

I am usually picky about cookbooks I want to use; they have to have something...something that talks to my imagination and my taste. And this book certainly has that. Try the mussels with coconut fish bullion if you really want to be blown away with your dinner
