Interesting if you were born in the same period AND know the areas involved.

The sample to this book is very short, hardly ten minutes' read, so I'm guessing the whole book isn't very long either. Anyhow, the opening prologue is good - I like the photo embedded in the text and the way the writing of the book came about. Chapter 1 was ok and then the sample ended. The writing style is pleasing enough, but when 1940s-60s East End stories/documentaries are plentiful, reading about a fortunate and well-to-do girl from that time whose father was a black marketeer, at a fairly high price for a Kindle eBook, didn't strike me as especially appealing.
