4.0 out of 5 stars Six trips and we still use it - but ignore the attitude
We first bought this book because it was the only one that covered all of the different areas we wanted to visit; other options required buying several books.

At over 1100 pages it is fairly heavy, so worth making note of when you pack your luggage, but it is worth it.

The amount of detail is wonderful. It contains maps, street maps, tourist...

2.0 out of 5 stars Get lonely planet instead
I don't usually review but felt a bit misled by previous reviews. Reading the Ontario section, the information is useful BUT there are absolutely no tips on where to eat (which I enjoy reading about). Also the only accommodation reviews are for high-end inns and lodges (with a weird numbering system rather than actual prices). There are absolutely no tips for hotels or...

Rough Guides latest Canada guide book is well worth the price. As usual lots of information which makes a visit to the country extra inviting. After reading lots of guides I have come to the conclusion that Rough Guides and Footprint are the best. Lonely Planet is OK but I often get the feeling that they are an operational arm of NGOs like Greenpeace. Which makes Rough Guides and Footprint much more trustworthy.

Appears to be a very informative guide book, providing reasonable detail. Although we have not studied it in depth as yet,we are nevertheless hopeful it will prove beneficial for our holiday planning. Guide books of this kind are an essential tool aid when travelling extensively abroad. We have used similar type guide books for Australia and New Zealand, which have assisted us greatly.
