5.0 out of 5 stars A 'must have'!, 3 Jan 2009
This review is from: Seabirds of the World (Photographic Handbooks) (Paperback)
If you enjoy birds or travel at all or simply collect bird stamps, it can cost a fortune in buying the individual bird birds you might want to refer to. Here are all the seabirds in one volume. So if you wonder was the tropic bird you saw on the Galapagos the same as the ones in Hawaii or the West Indies, here they all are side by side for comparison. Even if you just yearn to visit these places you can sit in an armchair and explore the different albatrosses or penguins all in brilliant photos. Top quality paper and high standards of reproduction make the pictures appear at their best. Don't think this is just photos... the informative text invariably answers the question you might want to ask. A full page of information faces each page of illustrations for easy and detailed reference. Small surprise that the British Ornithologists' Union magazine called it "a major achievement in photographic and ornithological publishing". The quality makes many older bird books look old fashioned and redundant!
