As a new-comer to vegetarian eating, I was concerned that my body would not be getting all the essentials it required. I need not have worried, as my friend bought this beautifully-illustrated book for me.
Nicola Graimes explains in non-technical language what vitamins and minerals are important for healthy living, precisely why they are important, then provides very detailed health benefits for every item of natural food available. She describes what to look for when shopping for them, how to store them, and the best preparation method for each to retain the maximum benefit to health.
The recipe section of the book contains detailed, illustrated instructions for the whole range of meals from snacks to more formal dining; in fact, something for every occasion. All in all, this is a most impressive book - an essential for anyone wishing to live a healthier lifestyle.
