This review is from: The Illustrated Guide to Divination (Paperback)
This book contains basic information on, scrying, dowsing, palmistry, tarot etc. The hole idea of the book is to help you find an oracle that fits you. The book is just an introduction to different systems of divination, and derfore most sutible for beginners. The book is easy to read, and contains nice pictures on eatch subject. If you already have choosen your way to wisdom for example scrying, I would suggest you try a book that goes deeper into your subject.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not all that practical, 1 Jun. 2013

This review is from: The Illustrated Guide to Divination (Paperback)
This would probably be best for beginners,or those who haven't decided what form of divination they want to work with and want advice on choosing a system as it doesn't go into a lot of detail regarding the different systems.
The first part of the book covers the history of divination, what oracles do,choosing a oracle, how to care for it,different ways of laying out a system and advice on forming a question correctly to get the most from your divination.I liked this part of the book most.
The rest of the book covers the different methods, not very indepth but gives enough for you to give them a try-I ching,Tarot,Runes,Astrology,Scrying,Tea leaves,Dice and dreams,if you decided to work with any of them further you'd definitely need a book that goes deeper into it.
This book also gives samples of several oracle packs on the market (including Zen koan,Medicine cards,Sacred path cards,Celtic tree cards,Greenwood tarot,Eye of horus oracle,Cartouche.Crystal ally cards,Angel messenger cards,Inner child deck,Enlightenment pack, lord of the rings oracle etc ),of course you can't practice them without the actual kits but does give enough so you can see if they interest you (I've brought 'The medicine cards' ,'The eye of horus oracle' and 'The crystal ally cards' after seeing them in this book).
