This beautifully illustrated book provides a clear and heartful introduction to the world of the shaman. The book includes guidelines on ethics and shamanic techniques as well as craft projects such as making a medicine pouch or beading a feather. What I like about this book is its simplicity and honesty. The creation of ceremony and ritual are demystified and made approachable for people who do not have traditional training in the shaman's ways. At the same time it is made clear that this work is real and not a game. And underlying the book throughout is a deep appreciation of Grandmother Earth.
This book should be in the Christmas stocking of anyone who is interested in shamanism or Native Medicine.

This is a beautiful book, in more ways than one. It is beautifully produced, and its heart and ethics are in the right place! It both describes the shaman's path in a way that is relevant to modern, western practicioners, and gives you a lot of useful information and instructions on how to enrich your practise by making traditional tools.
If you only buy one book on shamanism, buy this one!
