3.0 out of 5 stars Charming but with limitations

Jane Pettigrew is well established as Britain's First Lady of Tea, and this delightful hardcover full of fascinating facts, yum recipes to accompany tea and beautiful pics - from a Helen Bradley watercolour to an old LNER poster to a teddy bears picnic - makes for an ideal present.

Each piece is accompanied by a poem or quote, best encapsulated by William Wordsworth

'Hence rustic dinners on the cool green ground,

Or in the woods, or by a river's side

Or shady fountains, while among the leaves

Soft airs were stirring, and the middaysun

Unfelt shone brighty round us in our joy.'
