4.0 out of 5 stars For Futsal, great. For the goalkeeping...
I coach Futsal at University BUCS level and found this to be very useful for helping me form/develop tactical ideas and certainly helped with planning sessions. The technical advice for outfield players is excellent and while it didn't really contribute anything that I didn't already know it can be useful to show to players.

However...

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit misleading title
General overview of the game. There are much stronger books out there explaining basic 5-a-side and Futsal tactics. Not bad but not great either.

Recently completed my coaching futsal course with the Fa and wanted more information to help me. It delivers on content but more information on rotations and shooting is needed. Very basic print could do with extra graphics.

I also work as a goalkeeping coach for a Premier League club and was mortified by the goalkeeper section in this book. While I am aware that some techniques are different for Futsal I was shocked by how poor and misleading this section was. It told the players to take a catch by the throat underarm instead of in the W shape, it told the goalkeeper to put their knee on the floor when gathering (this isn't cricket!) and had several other pieces of information that are a far cry from what the best goalkeepers are taught or display in matches.

This is typical of a book written by outfield players who have little to no idea how to play in goal. For more detailed/accurate goalkeeping material I would recommend the work of Simon Smith or looking on the FA Licenced Coaches website
