Many books have appeared on the attractiveness of the female figure, but this excellent volume is different, offering a thoughtful and reasoned study of not only attractiveness but the broader implications of the way a woman uses the visual aspects of her body, and the way these aspects are used by others. It is an insightful book, and it is superbly produced, with a novel cover design - a thing of beauty indeed.

For the echo of Donne one can, I suppose, forgive it much, but this is a weighty, pretentious and irredemably naff production. Only a somewhat too long in the tooth bachelor would give it house room.
