Low in funnification, high in dissapointivity.
on 9 January 2006
When I received this book I expected it to be at least a collection of noteable quotes from the man himself but it is just a chucktogetherification of someone's attempt at making an English/Stephen-Fry 'phrase book', often using words which drip with madeuppedness. The author has to make it clear to the reader that the contents of the book are just made up, what Mr F. might say. Let me give my own made-up example of the kind of thing you might find, except that what follows may well be funnier because it has an element of truth to it:
*** English Speak: It was a waste of money.
*** Supposed Mr F. Speak: My dissapointment persisted in a state ignorant of any limiting boundaries as I succumbed to the realisation that my fiscal remuneration (both salaried and fluctuating emoluments) would have been more astutely and satisfactorily dispersed using combustative methods.
Disappointment on every page.
