2.0 out of 5 stars Virginia Woolf - Night and Day, 22 April 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Night & Day and Jacob's Room (Wordsworth Classics) (Paperback)
'Night and Day' is a love story, but the characters are unconvincing - their thoughts and emotions seem random and arbitrary. The novel reflects Woolf's own protected milieu and restricted social circle; written during WWI, published in 1919 and apparently set in the contemporary world, there is no mention of the war or its impact. There are occasional glimpses of middle/upper class domestic arrangements, but these are incidental and fragmentary. A seriously dull read.
