4.0 out of 5 stars lots of great plays, 5 Nov 2010

This review is from: The Plays of Oscar Wilde (Wordsworth Classics) (Paperback)
They don't call them classics for any old reason. Most of the plays in here are full of wit and humour. I liked Ernest, a woman of no importance and Vera. The plays of Wilde are something everyone should read whether they have an interest or not, as was my case.

Good buy at an excellent value. Before the plays there is an introduction giving some of the main details of Wilde's literary style and of the plays.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oscar Wilde is a genius, and his plays are shown in a nice format, 6 April 2013

Like all the Wordsworth classics, this book has some information about the author, and when the plays or books were written, which can be nice to read sometimes. I am a big Oscar Wilde fan, and my favourite Is The Importance Of Being Earnest.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comentario sobre la edición de Wordsworth Classics, 26 Nov 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Plays of Oscar Wilde (Wordsworth Classics) (Paperback)

Vera; or, The Nihilists
The Duchess of Padua
Salomé
lady Windermere's Fan
A Woman o No Importance
An Ideal Husband
The Importance of Being Earnest
La Sainte Courtisane
A Florentine Tragedy

5.0 out of 5 stars A comedian for all our times, 6 April 2006

best known for his work 'a picture of Dorian Grey' - which I also urge anyone to read, his most famous play is 'The Importance of being Ernest'. Whether you have seen the film or not, it is far more funny in the book version. Wilde manipulates his comic talents so well in this play, making every other utterance one of amusement. His other works, such as 'A woman of no importance' are equally wonderful.
