5.0 out of 5 stars Tasty and informative
I have only had this cookbook for a few weeks but so far it has provided me with nothing but delicious meals. Not only is it packed with tasty recipes; it is also loaded with good advice about healthy eating and general information about children's nutritional requirements. The recipes are easy and don't contain too many hard-to-obtain ingredients, as so many cookbooks...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good
Good book, although I am confused by the 'healthy' label on it. Especially when one recipe calls for low salt crisps?? Not as healthy as I had imagined. Lots of the other recipes are great though. If you want a healthy cook book try the River cottage baby and toddler or for super healthy great recipes go for The Eat-Clean Diet for Family and Kids.

I have only had this cookbook for a few weeks but so far it has provided me with nothing but delicious meals. Not only is it packed with tasty recipes; it is also loaded with good advice about healthy eating and general information about children's nutritional requirements. The recipes are easy and don't contain too many hard-to-obtain ingredients, as so many cookbooks do. They also result in food that the whole family can enjoy without resorting to salt for flavouring...especially important for the little ones. In addition to telling the cook how many children's and adult servings the recipe yields, it explains why each of the chosen ingredients in that recipe are helpful in meeting daily requirements for a well-balanced diet (e.g., the cheese in this recipe provides calcium and protein, and the broccoli is a good source of vitamin A...). In addition, many of the recipes can be frozen, which is a plus for busy parents. Another positive aspect of the book is that its recipes are laid out by age group, so you know that what you are making is appropriate for your child.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good practical book, 26 Aug 2010
This review is from: Healthy Baby and Toddler Foods: The Complete Healthy Diet for 0 to 3 Year Olds (Paperback)
Having picked up many kids food books over the last few years I think Amanda Grant is the best in this category by far. I find her recipes practical, the sort of meals you do actually get around to cooking, and I find a lot of them can be adapted for adult meals too. Overall, think fantastic value for money and definitely one you will go back to time and time again.

This recipe book is wonderful. Recipes are simple and very quick - completely essential as the mother of any small child can attest and all are very tasty. It's as well used as my River Cottage baby cookbook and doesn't let me down. It provides excellent variety of recipes, some I make so often I know the recipes without consulting the book. I find for example - the chicken patties are easily eaten whilst on the go in the pram and the fruity flapjacks are so tasty and far healthier than shop bought options. Superb!
