This is a really attractive, big book, well made and full of wonderful illustrations from the metal genre. It is broken down but period and style, and also has a fair few tour posters, flyers etc thrown in to show how metal advertising and artwork has changed over the years, thankfully in many ways how it hasn't changed. My only gripe is there is not enough on band merchandising especially the tour tshirts, we get some glimpse but this to me is an untapped area which us unique to the rock world and metal in particular. Some vintage tour shirts are now worth a fortune and if you spend long enough on eBay you can see them, but a book can give you more insight on design and the story behind the tour etc.... The book is still a good buy but if you just want album covers, try the cheaper 'Heavy metal Thunder' by Neil Aldis, smaller and packed with album covers and info.
