A Book on Runes with a difference
A very detailed and comprehensive study of the Anglo-Saxon Runes for modern times. Taylor not only teaches us a unique way of perceiving the Futhorc – magically, in ritual and of course through divination, but also how to view them with a psychological understanding. The historical depth of study within the book is insightful, and includes comparisons between the Anglo Saxon, Norse and Icelandic Rune Poems, along with the Havamal. There is a definite thread of Jungian theory throughout the book, but particularly in the in the preface and introductions on how to use and interpret the Runes. The depth of knowledge contained within the book points out how much is missing from other recent publications on Runelore, and it was a joy to read.
Highly recommended for any serious student of the Runes.
