It was everything it claimed to be and more. My husband is in a nursing home and has difficulty concentrating and reading but he has spent many hours just looking at it. I was surprised how low the cost was with such a quality book. For the enjoyment it has given John, tis priceless

This book is unusual in the way that it strikes a nice balance between the lightness of a book accompanying a tv show and the sort of detail that I like to get in a book. The chapters on the ice age are a highlight. I'd say anyone with a passing interest in Irish earth sciences would appreciate it as a present.

Very pleased with the book, excellent illustrations, the only very slight critisism is that there were no captions to the pictures.
