This review is from: The Batman/Judge Dredd Collection (2000 Ad) (Paperback)
This graphic novel by John Wagner & Alan Grant is one of four stories which sees the two iconic comic book character's Batman & Judge Dredd reluctantly team us to face off against The Joker, Riddler, Judge Death, The Scarecrow & Lobo.

The story's are.
1)Judgment On Gotham.
2)Vendetta On Gotham.
3)The Ultimate Riddle.
4)Die Laughing+ a special bonus story Dredd vs Lobo.

The illustrations by Simon Bisley, Glen Fabry, Cam Kennedy & Carl Critchlow are nothing short of amazing with detailed & well illuminated character's these artists capture the tone of Gotham City & Mega City One perfectly.

Batman has a no killing rule vs the uncompromising methods of lawma Dredd who'll kill villains at the drop of a hat make this a unique team over four adventures that somehow Wagner & Grant have pulled off as they written the character's perfectly tapping into the pro's & con's of Batman & Judge Dredd which adds a layer of richness to there underlining personalities as this makes for some great arguments on how each character's differing methods on dealing out there unique brand of justice.

The weakest part of this novel overall is Dredd vs Lobo as this doesn't quite play out how it should as it lacks that spark & didn't ignite my interest.

This is more a bonus story more than anything else so it's not vital to the overall story arc.

This is a well written & illustrated graphic novel featuring two heroes with different opinions of the use of the law, Yet it's also about overcoming one's differences & teaming up for the good of saving mankind from criminals & the force's of evil.

A higly recommended read for fan's of Batman & Judge Dredd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tremendous, a must for Batman and Dredd fans, 5 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Batman/Judge Dredd Collection (2000 Ad) (Paperback)
This is absolutely tremendous. I'd read all the Batman/Dredd crossovers besides Die Laughing back in the day, so was really keen to get a hold of that. Having them all in one lovely book is a real treat, especially as the stories and artwork are so good. Like the Dredd/Aliens crossover, these are really successful, making for great Batman stories as much as they do Dredd stories, I loved it. The Lobo/Dredd crossover that's pegged on the end really wasn't my cup of tea, but it's a bonus so can't complain

3.0 out of 5 stars Get what you pay for!, 10 Jan. 2013
Il start off by saying I'm a big Batman fan and have enjoyed the odd Judge Dredd comic. You should know when your buying a comic like this, that u shouldn't be expecting some ground breaking or totally amazing type of story. But for fans of batman and Dredd this is quite an enjoyable read finding out how two great comic book legends paths crash together an unravel in a mighty mess of good vs evil. Even if it does take Dredd a while to realise that batman is a dark knight and a true protecter of the good no matter what dimension or realm he has been zapped into. Glad I bought it and it is now proudly amongst my comic collection.

Great Artwork, Great Story, Dredd AND Batman! what more can you ask for ?
Dredd highlights Batmans almost passive aproach to dealing with lawbreakers elevating his
already flawless aproach. Its great to see Dredds uncompromising methods questioned.
