5.0 out of 5 stars Superb. The value is in the inserts & copies
I won't insult anyone's intelligence by trying to comment on the Dambusters raid. I have come across several fine books on the subject but the value in this offering is in the inserts and copies of original documents. These are located throughout the book in a number of pockets and consist of:

Pocket 1
Official map showing planned routes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
A bit disappointed
Interesting plans, maps and copy letters from the period in a well presented case

The News Chronicle Front Page 18 May 1943.

Pocket 2
Letter from Barnes Wallis 21 April 1941.
A note on a method of attacking Axis powers.
Letter from Grp Capt Winterbotham.
Technical drawings for a trial version of the bouncing bomb.
Barnes Wallis's rough sketch of Upkeep.

Pocket 3
Notes on the spotlight altimeter calibration.
Extracts from the target folder for the Moehne dam.
Decisive cypher message.
Operation order.

Pocket 4
Wing Cmdr Guy Gibson's logbook.
Sgt Charles Brennan's logbook.

Pocket 5
617 Sqn Operations logbook.
Sorpe dam damage report.
American pamphlet.

Please note that the logbooks etc only show relevant pages. For example Guy Gibson's shows training flights, the raid entry and ends with the award of his VC

Im a Dambusters fanatic and my lovely wife treated me to this book as a present. Full of very interesting removable documents about the bouncing bomb, the raid and Guy Gibson. The account of the raid is basic but it doesn't take anything away from this book. I must for anyone interested in the Dams raid!!.

This worked perfectly as a different and interesting present for a 65th birthday. Often it is difficult to buy for a special birthday and this fitted the bill very well.

This was a present for our grandad who was in the second world war. He absolutely loves the book. Plenty of pictures with facts and hands on pull outs. Fantastic.
