Used it as a basis for family discussions when we were on holiday. Daughter is studying ethics and the chapters were good starting points. Lively discussions followed!

It doesn't patronise which lay-persons' books sometimes can. Not the light touch of 'the pig...' but readable which is infrequently the case in philosophy which is why so often I use podcasts for my general consumption.
He sees I think that ethics is seen by many readers not just as a theoretical subject but a possible guide: how should I act? How should I, or should I, judge how others act? What is a good life? I do and have recommended it.

Excellent reading for students studying Philosophy and Ethics at AS level. Teachers impressed my daughter had got it and has proved useful. Recommended.

I enjoyed this. It was not too dense and the format of addressing one clearly stated issue at a time meant one can pursue the reasoning carefully. The author does jump to the obvious each time but took time to set out the wider context of each issue. Well worth the reading time
