4.0 out of 5 stars Behind that aura of glamour, 17 Oct 2013
This review is from: Airline: Style at 30,000 Feet (Mini) (Paperback)
Keith Lovegrove's book not only evokes nostalgia or even envy for an era of flying only the elite experienced, but also provides valuable insights into an industry that has always had an aura of glamour. His comprehensive research into aviation as it was then and is now has resulted in a highly readable tome that explains the many facets of an airline, from how it projects and markets its image through the uniforms of its cabin crew, to how it decides on inflight menus, interiors and liveries. Whether or not one agrees that the golden era of aviation is behind us, one will appreciate the many gems of information the book contains, including photos that tell a thousand stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Parallel universe at 30,000 feet', 7 Oct 2013
This review is from: Airline: Style at 30,000 Feet (Mini) (Paperback)
I've just received my copy of Airline, and it's glorious - full of photos of the best and worst of stewardesses uniforms - and interiors to match. A neat insight to an era when flying was fashionable with stories behind the how and who was responsible for creating what Keith Lovegrove calls 'that parallel universe at 30,000 feet'.

5.0 out of 5 stars A study in customer service, 3 Oct 2013
This review is from: Airline: Style at 30,000 Feet (Mini) (Paperback)
Keith's book evokes a slower time and space for pure customer service, when the brand, style, experience and environment enveloped one in a dreamworld. Through Keith's pertinent style notes and well-observed photography, this book is a gift of lessons learnt for anyone considering how to serve, how to create the best customer experience, how to delight the client.

4.0 out of 5 stars Airline Life, 16 Dec 2013
This review is from: Airline: Style at 30,000 Feet (Mini) (Paperback)
Great that all this information has been combined to reflect the lost world of glamour and excitement associated with flying around the world in the 50's and 60's. If you've enjoyed this then you may also be interested in 'No Wonder I Like Butterflies', a story of one woman's life through WW2 as well as her career with BOAC and then her time as an expat wife and mother.
