This is the third episode of this interesting mystery series featuring pensioner Eleanor Trewynn and her dog Teazle. When Eleanor's niece, Megan, rescues a half drowned man while out for a walk with Eleanor and her neighbour Nicholas Gresham, Eleanor finds herself in the middle of a mystery. Where did the man come from and why has he been washed up half drowned on the Cornish coast?

This is an exciting story with a race against time as well as a hair raising sea voyage. I found myself turning the pages faster to find out what happened. The suspense is well done and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. The characters are interesting and their interactions are believable. I've grown to like Eleanor and her niece Megan in the three books available in this series so far.

I particularly like the police characters - the brusque D I Scumble who has a very human side to him; Megan herself struggling with all the prejudice of the era against women in the police. If you like your mysteries with interesting characters and backgrounds then give this series a try - they can be read in any order.

Thoroughly enjoyable, a bit Famous Five adventurish, but a great read. Enjoyed this one most of the the three I have read.

i hope Carola Dunn writes more of these cornish mysteries. I have read all three. She has a knack of getting you enthralled into the storyline. She keeps you guessing until the end. I would recommend to anyone who likes mystery/who dunnits. I would say she is on a par with Rebecca Tope, There is an amusing dialogue between the characters and I like the idea of an elderley lady outsmarting the DI - a true 'Miss Marple'!

Book arrived in condition described, it looked as thought it hadn't even been read. I didn't realise there was a third book in the series and I enjoyed the first two so was looking forward to reading this one. It certainly didn't disappoint, the characters are superb and I love the Cornish setting. I would definitely recommend the book and the seller.

I have read the first two of these books, which I enjoyed, but I have to say this is the best. It really has you on the edge of your seat wondering what's going to happen next. I'm looking forward to more of these books. I would defiantly recommend this book.

I have loved reading this book. I think it is the best and most gripping book of all the books Carola Dunn has written, including the Daisy Dalrymple series. I just couldn't put it down. Mystery combined with adventure - perfect combination!

Very simple and gentle but I personally found it a bit dull and took ages to get going. To be honest I gave up in the end but that's probably a matter of taste as I can't say it isnt well written, it's just not my cup of tea.

A very good story, cosy, makes you wish you were there with the characters in a easier less complicated time. All the Cornish Mystery stories are excellent reads. Please lets have some more.
