Just right for a short trip
on 11 October 2013
I was only in Bruges for 24 hours so this book was perfectly adequate for such a short break. There are several walks around the different areas of Bruges, each accompanied by a map and description of what you can see along the way, as well as any food or shopping stops that the author thinks worthwhile. The walks include the must-see highlights of Bruges as well as more off the beaten track places, which is a nice idea if you want to get away from the crowds and get mire if a feel for the city. There are also walks and descriptions of places outside of Bruges (Ghent, for eg) , should you be in the area for a while. The pull-out map at the back is a great addition too.
The book is informative and useful, while still being fairly lightweight, so you don't feel like you are lugging around a great tome. I'd definitely recommend it for a short break.
