A readable and interesting guide
on 18 July 2015
This 328-page book - the 9th (print) edition of March 2014 - is an interesting and readable guide to the Netherlands’ tourist capital of Amsterdam (The Hague is the actual capital city). This is a well-designed and presented guide, with useful maps. This is not a glossy guide with lots of colour pictures, but it is a well-designed and laid out guide, with colour used sparingly. It is intended to be a helpful guide to things to see and do, and not just a list of things to see and do.
It is broken down into four major sections:
Page 4 - Plan Your Trip:
This section is an introduction to Amsterdam, what to look out for (Amsterdam‘s Top 10), what you need to know in advance, and other touristy stuff.
Page 62 - Explore Amsterdam (“The Guide”):
P054: Neighbourhoods at a Glance (with an introductory map and with a fold-out map of the city inside the back-cover) followed by 10 sub-sections on the city’s various districts
P206: Day Trips from Amstedam
Page 235 - Understand Amsterdam:
This section has articles on local culture - history, arts, architecture, etc.

A-Z Directory, transport, etc.
