What a beautiful book. I already owned it but bought this copy for a friend's birthday, she was over the moon with it.

I bought this as a gift for my friend after we had been to Venice on a trip...I was very tempted to keep it!

Tessa Kiros's "Venezia" is my absolute favourite, guilty pleasure. I purchased "Venezia" after coming back from a trip to Venice last year. Missing the magic of the place and the food, I was quite pleased to come across this treasure. Now, most recipe books sit on my dusty little shelf as pure gastro-porn, only to be given the occasional perusal and rarely to be cooked from. "Venezia" however, is divine from the beautiful scampi linguine, the rustic and moorish risottos to the elegant but oh-so-decadent tiramisu recipes - Tessa Kiros, I just can't get enough of your book! I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a true, tried and tested representation of Venetian food which is easy to do/follow and even more rewarding to eat from! Buon appetito!

A beautifully produced hardback book with excellent illustrations, heavy paper, gold edges etc. The content is good too and even if you don't try the recipes it is worth it for the luxury of the volume. A real gem

and a terrible cook book. It's title "food and dreams" tells it all. It's about dreams of romance and beauty of idealized past in the idealized city . Without getting into a discussion what Venice is or is not, I would like to say that if you are looking for something pretty to adorn you coffee table or a book case than you should definitely buy this book--it is a gem of publishing art (although, personally, I prefered the look of Piri Piri Starfish); if you are planning to cook one of two Venetian dishes you could buy this book, although I can't see why this book should be considered better than other books on the same subject, but if you are a serious cook and want to know about Venezian food find something else.

I am a bit disappointed about this book which is beautiful and really enetertaining, but as a cookbook totally unuseful for me because there are almost only fish recipes in it. Living in a country where there is no sea and in a family where the fish dishes are banned I cannot do anything with it.

of the 70 cookbooks i own, THIS is my most favourite!

simply, THE most stunning cook book ever. from its sumptuous, rich photography, to its personal commentary, all the way to its black velvet marker ribbon, it is absolute class.

the recipes are wonderful and are authentic and do conjure the experience that is venice.

as with all of tess kiro's cookbooks, you will want to cook and try 17 recipes all at once!

i have given this stunning book to several foodie friends as gifts and all love the book as much as i do.

thank-you tess kiros for such a creative, inspiring tome : ) x x
