3.0 out of 5 stars Less information
The LP guides are usually OK for a short trip, & to get started, but they are steadily going more upmarket for the WTs (world travellers on mummy & daddy's money). The line spacing has been slightly increased which means a little less info overall - the quantity & quality of info has declined. I sent in some good quality info earlier, none of which was used, though I...

Contains all the requisite information on Nepal and was indispensable as a start off guide to the country. Due to Nepalese inflation, some of the pricing might be out of date, but otherwise, a good way to plan your trekking, city breaks, and travel.

3.0 out of 5 stars Less information, 3 Feb 2014

The LP guides are usually OK for a short trip, & to get started, but they are steadily going more upmarket for the WTs (world travellers on mummy & daddy's money). The line spacing has been slightly increased which means a little less info overall - the quantity & quality of info has declined. I sent in some good quality info earlier, none of which was used, though I did get a mention in the credits. LP is resting on withering laurels.

As always with Lonely Planet, a useful "tool" have when travelling as long as you bear in mind that the recommendations re places to stay and eat etc are subjective at that particular time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Guidebook., 14 Feb 2013

This is the most recent Nepal lonely planet guide, and it lives up to the hype. I am going to Nepal in a week and a half, and have looked through this thoroughly- it gives you a large variety or places to eat, stay and recommends things to do month by month....was incredibly happy to discover that I will be around for the 'Holi' festival (coloured powder is thrown). Light and compact, I trust that this book will see me through a fantastic 2 months travelling. Highly recommended.
