Holy Fire is yet another sound, Scriptural book that steers a clear line between truth and heresy. It is a message so needed today as individuals and churches seek to move forward in the plans of God before the great end-time harvest & Jesus' return.

Well worth reading.

RT successfully navigates the issues and questions people may have about the person and work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and the church. I was delightfully refreshed reading this book in that RT's purpose in being balanced and biblical is to draw the reader into a 'word and Spirit' lifestyle that embraces all God wants to give us.

There are also some touching and interesting anecdotes from his close association with his predecessor Dr Martin Lloyd Jones at Westminster Chapel London. Read it - pass it on or buy copies for others.

Vintage RT. Helpful to clergy and laity alike. Calls everyone back to an honest look at what the scripture truly has to say about the Bible. Will help any CHRISTIAN who genuinely seeks truth RE the Holy Spirit. Thanks RT.

Exactly what the title says it is-a balanced review of the biblical teaching on charismatic gifts and a well reasoned and argued case for their continuation. Dr Kendall brings both scholarship and experience to bear on the issues and focuses attention on the primary need of the Western world today - that Word and Spirit be equally the emphasis of today's church. Undoubtedly this is the key to a revival of vibrant Christianity in the world today. Lord, hasten the day.

This book will be a great help for any church leader who, like myself, finds themselves in a situation where some are fearful of what may happen if we let the Holy Spirit have his way, while others want to press on and give full expression. He points out the equally damaging extremes of cessationism on the one hand, and wild charismatic expression without godly character on the other. A book up to his usual high standard!

RT is always very readable. He has a great grasp of the issues and a heart to expound the whole counsel of God.
His warm and winsome style is very attractive. But If you want a more thorough and academic approach then I would recommend Max Turner's 'The Holy Spirit and Spiritual Gifts'.

All of R T Kendall's rich experience is poured into this book. His careful and thorough mix of Word and Spirit is heartening, reassuring and challenging. I loved the fact that it's an easy to read book, not light on theology but fully accessible to any reader.

I'd recommend this book to any who desires scriptural teaching not just "wise ideas".
