Fascinating account on Jobs and Apple, 7 Nov 2011

Fortune recently brought out this compilation of articles about Steve Jobs and Apple that they published between 1978 and 2011. It gives a good overview from the highs and lows of his career at Apple. Mainly highs by the way. The articles are structured in five parts: 1. What Makes Steve Tick 2. The Early Years 3. The Return To Apple 4. The I Years 5. Epilogue. Over 15 fascinating articles all in all. The best articles provide an insight in how Apple works internally, their emphasis on design and the customer experience, his struggles (illness, backdating of stock options), the success stories (eventually) of Pixar and Next and Apple's contribution to the reinvention of the record industry. It gave me a great insight in the way Apple works and Steve Jobs part in that and his fairly unique style. Instructive and inspiring. It'll be fascinating to see where Apple goes without their maverick.
