I disagree with the previous review; this book is packed with inspiration and its pattern ideas work really well - especially for trousers. It is rather dated, but ideas can be used in new ways. Wonderful hood patterns, so simple. Yes, it's in black and white with sketches, no photos, but you only need to understand what's being described and the sketches do the trick just as well as twice the number of photos might have done.
I bought this book for myself, read it and immediately ordered a copy for a friend, who is also delighted and inspired by it. With a little effort, one could even turn out some underwear using the bikini pattern.. No more clothes shopping. Now all we need is a little book on making your own footwear..

an unprofessional looking and very outdated book. the ideas in the book are simplistic, uninventive and not for anyone wanting to actually learn how to make their own clothes to a high standard.
the book is in black & white with no colour, the illustrations are amateur and unappealing.
written in the early 70's and re released, it hasn't been updated and this is evident in some of the ideas.
don't waste your cash on this book like i did, buy a simon henry title.
