4.0 out of 5 stars Love it
thought this was just going to be patterns lifted from the website, but instead it's all new things to make. Patterns are safer than the website, which can lean towards the sick, and are mostly things I want to make, and adapt to suit. Love the graffiti cross-stitch and am inspired to make the tree of life and death with some variations. Nice to read as well with...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great presentation, poor patterns, mainly crochet
For style and presentation this book wins hands down. You just want to keep looking at it and re-reading it. But for me, the patterns and designs weren't up to much.

The majority of the book is crochet (which isn't even mentioned in the title), there's very little knitting even though it's the first item on the book cover. All the patterns (be it crochet,...

For style and presentation this book wins hands down. You just want to keep looking at it and re-reading it. But for me, the patterns and designs weren't up to much.

The majority of the book is crochet (which isn't even mentioned in the title), there's very little knitting even though it's the first item on the book cover. All the patterns (be it crochet, sewing, knitting or whatever) are for experienced crafters. There's a lot of inspiration here for beginners, but other than the recipes there's not much they could easily achieve. The book's big selling point seems to be the duct tape (AKA gaffer tape) corset, but even that isn't easy to make and is only given in skinny sizing.

Great ideas, great layout, but the projects aren't very do-able.

The authors of this book are so absorbed with their 'crazy' image that they fail to see that there really is not much substance to the book. It's a bit of an ego trip.
Definitely NOT value for money

Love the graffiti cross-stitch and am inspired to make the tree of life and death with some variations. Nice to read as well with recipes and facts, and nice to have other things to do than just knit, all in the same book. Can't give it 5 stars until I see how well proofread the patterns are.

2.0 out of 5 stars very disappointing., 2 Nov 2013

I found this book a little childish. It would have appealed to my 15yr old self but as an adult, this is a real let down. The writer is almost trying to hard to be weird, which I found annoying, and the crafts aren't all that sinister.

i really like this book. if you are looking for a crochet ONLY or knitting ONLY book, look elsewhere this is a crafts book so it has section for crochet, knitting, chain mail and such. Still a great buy for some of the patterns, like the knee high socks and baby skull jumpers :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great patterns and easy to follow, 8 Jan 2012
This review is from: Anticraft: Knitting Beading & Stitching for the Slightly Sinister: Knitting, Beading and Stitching for the Slightly Sinister (Paperback)
My children are both a little on the dark side at the moment and love this book. The biggest hit out of all of the patterns is the goth santa hat with the skull and holly crossbones in a santa hat. I have knitted so many for children and friends I have lost count. It is best to substitute the wool in many of the small projects for cheaper varieties.

This review is from: Anticraft: Knitting Beading & Stitching for the Slightly Sinister: Knitting, Beading and Stitching for the Slightly Sinister (Paperback)
Covers all different crafts but it isn't really for the beginners in any of them, written with wit and 'joy' I recommend this book for inspiration if nothing else x

Enjoying this book. Projects are interesting. Side bars are amusing. Can't wait to start turning out some of the projects.
