I did not expect this book to be as good and helpful as it is. The 'step by step' is well graduated so that with time put into the drawing it progresses well through both text and illustration of 'what to do' without being overly technical. It covers a wide range of animals - both domestic and wild [though there are more examples and help drawing various domestic animals].
It is one of the most helpful books I have come across on how to achieve a drawing that looks like the subject - which is why I gave it 5*

This is a lovely book, with clear instructions for step by step projects. Explanations of techniques used are clearer than some books that I have read.
My only critisism would be that the projects in coloured pencil are in another book that I already have, 'Animals In Coloured Pencil'. I may not have bought this book if I had known this.
However in my opinion the book itself is worthy of the five stars that I have given it.
However I have given it 5 stars because the book itself is worth it.

Very impressed. I has shown me the techniques I needed to be able to draw a reasonable portrait of my dog. With practice, I know I shall only get better. Thank you Patricia for sharing your knowledge and skill.

I draw a little in my youth and decided to start again as a form of relaxation. So, to reduce the stress I felt that this book would go over the basics in broad terms and guide me in areas I was a little rusty/unclear. it did just that. Very impressed with the overall content and was a great buy.

This arrived well packaged and quite quickly after ordering. I was delighted with this book. The art work in it is wonderful. I am a bit of a perfectionist in my art and I love this book.
It is well written and very helpful in explaining from, what materials are best to use to how to develope and create a detailed beautiful drawing for new and budding artists. It's also a visual delight for those who have more experience.
